TRAVEL
Several airports serve the Palm Springs Area.
Palm Springs International Airport is served by many airlines and brings you right into town.
Ontario International Airport is about an hour to ninety minutes away depending on traffic. On Friday afternoons traffic from Ontario through Riverside can be congested at rush hour. Renting a car is necessary.
Los Angeles International Airport is between a 2 to 4 hours drive depending on the time of day and traffic. On Friday afternoons plan on the drive taking up to 4 hours as the LA traffic is terrible and lots of drivers head to Palm Springs for the weekend.
TRANSPORTATION
Palm Springs is a very small town that spans only a few miles. For this reason, it is not necessary that our out-of-town guests rent cars. We strongly recommend that guests take UberX or cabs to and from wedding events, as well as to and from the airport.
PLEASE NOTE: Parking at Sparrows Lodge will be quite limited the night of the wedding (because we are using one of their two lots for the delicious taco truck!), so once the other lot is filled, guests are welcome to park directly across the street at the Quality Inn.
UPDATE: Palm Springs now also has a free trolley service, the Palm Springs Buzz, that runs every 15 minutes and stops just steps away from the Sparrows.
ATTIRE
We want to say that the rehearsal and wedding attire is "dressy casual". However, nobody, not even Google, knows what this means. (And especially not Josh.) Friday evening, feel free to dress up jeans or slacks with a blazer and tie. Ladies, feel free to wear a maxi dress. cocktail dress, skirt, or nice pants. Men can wear a casual suit and tie look to the wedding, and women can dress bohemian-chic. Whatever that means to you is okay with us...
Both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding will be outside, and the weather in Palm Springs can be quite cool in the evenings. There will be heat lamps and a fire pit, but we still recommend that you bring something warm!
BABYSITTERS
If you need a babysitter for the evenings of Friday and/or Saturday, we recommend Desert Super Sitters. They offer group rates, and we would be happy to put you in touch with other friends traveling with young children. Please ask for Christina!
